Detail : Hi: I was in the Medical Helper course in early 1963 (March to April). Does anyone remember the SSgt. who used to say, \"I want you to know and understand......\" which was his way of telling you that information would be on the upcoming test. Great times in Greenville.

Detail : Hello Out there!! Looking for those women stationed there in the years 1944-1945. Would love for them to join this reunion so I can meet up again with them. October would be fine, to see the young ones who experienced Greenville and those of us who knew it during the WWII. And especially wanting to know about the great Capt. Haerr, commander of the WAC, and later General.

Detail : Was in medic school at GAFB when Pres. Kennedy was shot. I remember an NCO running into class to tell us he was dead. I also remember the racial prejudice in the town of Greenville, with separate drinking fountains, waiting rooms, schools, etc. I hope things are better now.

As a result of notifying, via emai,l GHS 1950s classmates of Jane´s death, I met another wonderful girl from Greenville Myrna Lois Cook (Alvarez). On February 14, 2006, Myrna and I were married and now live in Powder Springs, GA. I was very blessed to have met and married two wonderful girls from Greenville, MS. Obviously I have many wonderful memories of Greenville AB and Greenville, MS. Jim Kraft

Detail : Thanks for this nice site I came across as I perused the Class of ´67 Reunion site looking for old friends. My father, Edward M. Guss, was at the base in the late 1940s early 1950s where he met my mom, Catherine Elizabeth Mackey Bond who worked at the PX. He was a musician, percussion, in the band. I know very little about his time there, but I remember even as a very small child - I was born in 1950 - that the Air Force Base brought diverse people into the Delta and was such a vital part of Greenvill´s heritage, it was a very special addition to our lives and the people it brought us from everywhere. It was a kinder and gentler time, wasn´t it? Should I find his Air Base pictures, I will scan and upload. Searching my "archives" requires finding all the trunks of pictures. More later, Sydney Guss McWilliams

Detail : My father, George Gregory Wylie was in the Army/Air Force during WWII and served at GAFB, in turn met my mother Lois Lavelle (Ready) Wylie and then married. My mother´s father, Lawrence Bracy Ready also worked at the base for a long time as a mechanic as well. When the base closed down in the 60´s ?, I really missed the the sounds of the Air Force in the air.

Detail : I lived at Shaw, MS, about 20 miles NE of GAFB. I was in high school when two T-33´s collided just west of Shaw.
I remember another one hit the Greenville bridge over the Mississippi River. I went to air shows there and remember C-119´s, T-33´s, T-28´s, etc., being at the air show.

Detail : Hello,
I have a BT-13A that served at Greenville during WWII. I would love to communicate with anyone who may have flown or worked on my plane 41-11459 (vultee serial 41-2469) during those years. I would also be interested in pictures that anyone may have of the BTs on the field--rides to anyone that knew her in those days.

Detail : Arrived Greenville in Feb 51 as a member of Class 52B. Flew T-6D for 6 months and then on to Craig AFB for F-52 training. Met and married a Greenville girls when I graduated and we spent 22 years together all over the US and Canada. She died in 1973 and I brought her home for burial. Stayed in the AF for a full 32 years and retired at Sheppard AFB in 1982. Greenville, obviously, has many memories for me and my children. Last visited there in 1998.
