Neville, I have a John born baptised 21.2.1768,Innkeeper/cardmaker, who married Elizabeth Oates, 1798, so it doesn´t look as our families connect.
Sorry
Mardi

Dear Mr Ormerod,

I´m sorry if I´ve already contacted you before: my interest in my family history has to be tempered by the need to work. I only manage sporadic episodes of research. I am certain that we are related. I have a little black book that my father (Bill Hacking) inherited from George Ormerod. It is essentailly a family tree of the Taylors and the Ormerods. Please do e-mail me if you are interested in this information. I could scan the book and send a series of jpg files.

Regards

I think i may have another daughter of Richard and Matty. jane hodgson is listed as the daughter of richard hodgson, watchman, rochdale in the 1845 marriage certificate of jane to jonathan wolfenden. they had a son timothy (my great great grandfather). jonathan died between 1850 and 1857. jane remarried thomas walker of wardleworth. they are found in the 1861 census. i can email the image to you. i think the mar. cert says she lived at oak street in rochdale. this is where richard and matty lived. thanks bill, please email me!!

Found your site while researching my husbands family ASHWORTH. The family came from Lancashire. James Ashworth b1839 married Dorothy Ann Ormerod in 1860. Dorothy was born 1839. Her parents were Peter Ormerod & Ann Lord. James´ parents were John Ashworth & Ann Lord. Please let me know if there is a connection.

Came across your site while searching for the name POPLUR, which is a variant of my one name study. You have a Harriet Poplur listed as a witness to the marriage of Hiram Elliott and Ada Clegg. I believe Harriet married the other witness, George Brierley, in the 2nd qtr of 1892. I´ll apply for the certificate and see if your Hiram and Ada returned the favour by being witnesses to their marriage!
Many thanks for putting this info on your site :-)

Typed in Ernest & Mary Ann on the internet having just thought about family trees and came up with your web site. They were my great-great-grandparents. I believe my grandfathers sister, Vera Beatrice Todd (Ne. Elliott, b. 1910 and still doing well in Withington) knew of your mother Alice. I lived in Flixton from 1989-1996, but didn´t realise she lived locally. I now live in Southport with my wife and 2 children. My father is the same generation as yourself and he was born in March 1935 and worked until retirement at Manchester University. Please make contact if you wish.

Found your website after typing Rupert Ormerod in Google. My husband is Charles Rupert Ormerod but is known as Rupert. He was born in 1939 in London, son of Arthur Hereward Ormerod 1910 - 1972, Barrister. His father, Charles Ormerod had the Ormerod Bros. Silk Mill at Brighouse up to @ 1914ish. later retired to Appleby, Westmoreland. We have a family tree - must be a connexion somewhere!

Hi Nev and Stephanie,
Great to see you both on Saturday. Thanks for the good wishes and the gifts. We´re just about recovering. Alan has gone off to the Stadium to see England/ Japan so I´m making a start on some thank yous.
We hope you enjoyed the party as much as we did. We were thrilled that so may people came to celebrate with us.
Our friends from Devon also have a King Charles cavalier, their third one is called Archie. Their first one was the grandson of the dog which modelled for the Beswick china figurine (we bought them the figure for their Ruby wedding!! )
Hope it´s not as long before we see you again
Love and best wishes
