This past summer, my children, their cousins, and I had the unexpected opportunity to stay in a family friend´s cottage near Acadia National Park in Maine. We had an amazing adventure and my cousin and I were racking our brains trying to think of some way to thank our hosts as they refused to accept any payment. Then I remembered the beautiful portrait work of my dear friend Barbara Lovell Napoli and I knew it was the perfect solution. We agreed to commission a portrait of the cottage to give to our hosts as a Christmas gift. I gave Barbara some photos and we had some brief discussions about some details to add to the portrait. I could not believe my eyes when I received the portrait! To say it was beautiful is an understatement! It was absolutely perfect! Somehow Barbara was able to capture the essence of the cottage in the portrait. Even my 7 year could recognize the feeling. My cousin called me on Christmas Day and told me that when she presented the portrait to the homeowners at their family gathering, they all began to cry. They were so humbled to be given such a personal gift that truly held such special memories and meaning for them all. The portrait was a perfect way to show our appreciation and a gift we know will have a place of honor and presence for years to come. Thank you, thank you Barbara!

My husband and I commisioned a portrait from Barbara to capture the love between a girl and her horse. It was to be a special Christmas gift for my mother-in-law, with her "true love" Pepper! I had high hopes for the perfect gift based on Barbara´s reputation locally and the portraits displayed on her website. The finished work of art far exceeded those expectations! Barbara´s detail of Pepper´s every flowing hair and beautiful Arabian face gazing toward the stunning likeness of my mother-in-law is now lovingly displayed in her home and will be cherished always! We now plan on doing the same for a special 7th birthday gift for my daughter, with her pony. If you are, or know, a horse-lover or owner and want to also capture that bond, Barbara did an amazing job, from the onsite photography to the finished portrait! Thank you, Barbara! We´ll be back soon!

Barbara, Thank you so much for the wonderful sketch and painting you did of my childhood home. I gave Barbara many photographs showing a variety of angles of my family´s house and the woods behind it. Barbara put it all together so beautifully. Her detailed sketch of the house in the middle and watercolor paintings around it of the woods was so unique. Barbara´s ability to add in such special details really gave my family many warm smiles as we spoke about all of the "little" extras Barbara added in. This has captured an image that is now gone forever, as these beautiful woods are being cut down as I type. Thank you for capturing such a special place in my life. We can always look at this work of art and remember the way it was! You have a true gift as an artist and I am so thrilled to have a piece of your artwork in our family!

This past summer I discovered the art of Barbara Lovell Napoli, and I´ve been following her work ever since. I now own three of her paintings and I just had to relate how incredibly original and varied each one is. The detail is painstaking and the richness of the colors is amazing. I constantly receive comments from visitors about the uniqueness of the subject matter--I own one of the Skellylounge series (a skeleton dancing next to a martini glass with a jigger on his head), an intriguing, off-the-wall painting of a stuffed mechanical monkey sitting next to a martini, and a a two-foot abstract painting of autumn leaves called "October Carpet." For now, ebay buyers of her work are certainly getting a bargain. That´s probably going to change very shortly, however, since I´ve noticed competing bids are raising the price of her pieces. Good for her, I think she´s worth it! I feel lucky that I own at least a few of her paintings, and I hope to purchase more!

You have so beautifully captured the essence of my children at the tender ages of 8, 4 and 6 months. Your painting is even more precious to me as those children are now adults. Thank you for the bit of time travel I do everyday when I glance at the portrait.

The painting of my "Angel Baby" is perfect. You captured his beautiful face and serene spirit in a way that truly will last forever! I can´t thank you enough for not only the portrait, but for your compassion and the loving eye you clearly had while painting my beautiful son. When we are lucky enough to have another child, I´ll be contacting you to paint a matching portrait, hopefully with just one significant difference! Thank you so much!

The day of the arrival of Barbara Lovell-Napoli´s painting of my children found me to be very apprehensive. I opened the package and before my eyes was a most beautiful depiction of my children. Barbara lovell-Napoli captured my children exactly as they look. From the smile and the cow lick in my oldest daughter´s hair to the seriousness in the face of my younger. Barbara´s talent allowed her to capture my children so naturally.

I recently bid--but was outbid, alas--on one of your pieces of art. The "Princely Martini" (a martini glass with frog princes perched on the rim and stem) seems not only extraordinary in detail, but truly original. PLEASE let me know if you decide to sell a similiar piece. Thanks!
